THE PROBLEM:
An oil spill occurred at the subject property which is adjacent to state listed navigable waters. If not prevented from migrating towards the navigable waters, a sheen would have arisen on the waters and caused the spill to be reportable. Thus, immediate clean-up activities were required.

THE SOLUTION:
The solution was to provide immediate action that contained the spill from reaching the surface waters.

THE RESULT:
We worked on an immediate response to determine the type of material spilled, the regulatory implications, and whether or not the spill was reportable. The next step included the development of delineation and excavation activities, and the preparation and completion of a cleanup report. The activities at the site prevented the oil from reaching navigable waters.
